Alison Krauss, born in Decatur in Illinois on July 23, 1971, is an incredibly popular and well-off Country Singer. She and LeAnn Kymes were two of the earliest winners of the Grammy Award. Alison Maria Krauss - born July 23rd 1971 - is a popular American bluegrass and country singer. She entered the music industry at an early age winning local contests by the age of 10 and recording her first album at the age of 14. When she was 14, she signed with Rounder Records and in 1987 she released her first solo album. The year 1989 saw her asked to be a part of Alison Krauss & Union Station who she is a part of.
