Anita Ekberg
Anita Ekberg was a Swedish actress who starred in a variety of European as well as American films. She is mostly known for her part in the comedy drama film "La Dolce Vita". In 1960, the film was given the Golden Palm and an Oscar by the Cannes Film Festival. The film also had the success of critics and consumers. Born in Skane and was model prior to embarking on performing. She took home her first Miss Sweden competition. Then she moved to the US, and began appearing in a variety of films, playing varying role. Her first credit role was in the film "Abbott & Costello Go to Mars", in which she was the role of a Venusian guard. In the same year, she was awarded an award called the Golden Globe in the category of 'Most Outstanding Newcomer' for her role in the movie "Blood Alley.. Her work included a variety of films that included the war drama film War and Peace, the Western 'Valerie,' the British crime-adventure film The Man Inside and the film of the same name, The Dam on the Yellow River.' Her death occurred in the year 2015 when she was 85.
