Robyn R. Fenty NH[2[2 (/ri'aen@(/ri'aen@ (listen) ree-AN -@;[3][4][n 1] was born 20 February 1988) is a Barbadian actor, singer and businesswoman. Born in Saint Michael and raised in Bridgetown, Barbados, Rihanna auditioned for American record producer Evan Rogers who invited her to the United States to record demo tapes. After joining Def Jam, in 2005 Rihanna's fame quickly grew when she released her two first studio albums, Music of the Sun (2005) & A Girl Like Me (2006). These albums were inspired by Caribbean music and made it into the top ten of the US Billboard 200 Chart. The third album by Rihanna, Good Girl Gone Bad (2007) comprised elements of dance-pop and established her position as a sex model in the music industry. Rihanna got her first Grammy Award for "Umbrella" which was a chart-topping hit which launched Rihanna into the spotlight. Her subsequent studio albums, Rated R (2010), Loud (2010) and Talk That Talk (2011), continued her blend of R&B and pop music. Unapologetic (2012) was her first Billboard 200 top-ten album. The albums yielded a host of chart-topping songs, including "Rude Boy", “Only Girl (In the World)," and "What's My Name?" ", "S&M", “We Found Love” "Where Have You Been” and "Diamonds". Anti (2016), her eighth studio album, was her first album since her departure from Def Jam. The album was her second US top-selling album and included the smash hit track "Work". Rihanna has worked with many artists over her musical career. Some of them include Jay-Z as well as Kanye West, Jay-Z, Jay-Z, Kanye Ne-Yo, Shakira. Rihanna is the second-most-sold female artist in the music industry, with more than 250 million records sold globally. She has had a number one and has had 31 top ten singles in the US as well as a top ten hit in the UK with 30 entries. Her achievements include nine Grammy Awards, 13 American Music Awards (including the Icon Award), 12 Billboard Music Awards, six Guinness World Records, the NAACP's President's Award, and an Academy Award nomination. Time classified her among the top 100 most influential individuals in the world in the years 2012 and 2018. Forbes listed her among the top 10 highest-paid stars in 2012/2014.
